To start projects within the Climate-Leading Process Industry
Project within Climate-Leading Process Industry
- The projects have a feasibility study character, meant to contribute to:
- Objectives and impact logic within KPI
- Development of larger spin-off projects with external funds
- Basis for important industrial investments/events within the region
- Funds are allocated to Klimatledende Processindustri's collaborative partners, who carry out the project in collaboration with members from the West Swedish Chemical and Materials Cluster and any other organizations
- Collaborating parties: Chalmers University of Technology, Chalmers Industrial Technology, University of Borås, IVL Swedish Environmental Institute, RISE
- Available funds for 2022 – 2025 are approximately SEK 20 million, to which are added in-kind contributions or cash funds from project participants. The largest searchable amount is SEK 1 million
- Applications are made according to the cluster's application process with the support of the respective operational area leader
- Areas of action within the Climate-Leading Process Industry that can be allocated funding
Areas of focus within Climate-Leading Process Industry that can be awarded funding
The application process
- Participate in collaboration meetings and discuss project ideas Project ideas are designed by members and presented at working group meetings for discussion, opinions and the possibility of more collaboration parties. Contact the respective operational area leader to put forward your project idea.
- With the support of the management team, a project group and a project plan are formed
- The project proposal is sent to the management team for review and decision four weeks before the steering group meeting. The management team reviews the project plan's content, budget, goals and schedule, gives feedback to the project group and decides whether the proposal should be submitted to the steering group.
- The project proposal is sent to the steering committee one week before the steering committee meeting. The steering committee decides whether the project should be started. The steering group meets 4 times/year. If the project proposal is rejected, it is sent back to the project group for possible further processing.
Basic project criteria
- The project aims to fulfill the investment's main objective of a fossil-independent process industry
- The project contributes to one or more objectives specified in the investment's impact logic. ( Click here to see a pdf with performance targets for each area of effort )
- The project shows how results are planned to be taken forward after the end of the project
- The project contributes to increased cooperation between different actors in the innovation system and to increased knowledge within the entire area of operations. This means that:
- Parties that receive funds from the venture for execution (executing parties) are registered cooperative parties in the venture
- At least two organizations (in addition to implementing parties) that are members of the West Swedish Chemistry and Materials Cluster participate in the project
- Project participants who are not implementing parties contribute in-kind or cash funds to the project
- The number of participating parties, the share of in-kind and cash funds must be such that the project can be implemented with good results. Guidelines are to:
- First-time projects with requested funds below or equal to SEK 500,000 must have an in-kind or cash contribution that in total corresponds to at least 10% of the project budget
- Continuation projects and projects with requested funds greater than SEK 500,000 must have an in-kind or cash contribution corresponding to at least 20% of the project budget.
- The minimum cash contribution is SEK 25,000/party
