Project Results Plastic Recycling

Klimatledande Processindustri

Through the Climate Leading Process Industry program within the West Swedish Chemistry and Material Cluster, we have financed, supported, or participated in a number of projects on plastic recycling. As some of these projects have now been completed or are well underway, there are now project results that we are eager to share!

During this webinar, we will present and discuss project results from three such projects. At Chalmers, the Climate Leading Process Industry program has helped finance a three-year postdoctoral position in the field of plastic recycling. We will hear a mid-term report on their work. Furthermore, RISE, IVL, and the Climate Leading Process Industry, in an advisory role, have worked on a project focused on process concepts where hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) is studied for the recycling of complex waste streams. Finally, the Climate Leading Process Industry has financed the project "From Reject to Recycling - a Feasibility Study," where sorting and washing of plastic-rich waste from, among other sources, industry has been studied.

Welcome!

Agenda

Introduction – Magnus Andersson, Climate Leading Process Industry (see presentation)

Project Presentations

  • Complex Polymer-Rich Material Streams and Their Role in Circular Material Supply (Mid-Term Report) – Martin Seemann and Nidia Diaz Perez, Chalmers (see presentation)
  • Preliminary System Evaluation of Process Concepts with HTL Technology for Complex Plastic Waste Streams (DeToxoLys) – Chunyan Ma, RISE and Tomas Rydberg, IVL (see presentation)
  • From Reject to Recycling – a Feasibility Study – Abhijit Venkatesh, RISE (see presentation)
